O-Level Pure Biology is assessed across three papers: Paper 1 (multiple choice), Paper 2 (structured and free-response questions), and Paper 3 (a practical examination). Biology carries a heavy content load, and the Sec 4 topics assume the Sec 3 foundations are secure. Sec 3 introduces the core ideas, including cell structure, movement of substances, nutrition, and transport systems, that later topics build directly upon. Starting in Sec 3 means your child masters these fundamentals as they are taught, instead of cramming them alongside the harder Sec 4 material. In Sec 4 the focus shifts to demanding topics like genetics, inheritance, homeostasis, and human reproduction, together with full-paper practice and essay-style answer technique. Whichever year your child is in, lessons are aligned to their current academic situation, building and reinforcing the fundamentals before we set a study plan for each student.

Pure Biology is the full single-subject O-Level, covering more topics in greater depth and assessed with its own practical paper. Combined Science Biology is a lighter subset, taken together with a second science as one combined subject. Pure Biology suits students who are stronger in the sciences or heading towards medicine, biomedical, or life-science-related paths.
